What Is Financial Aid?
Financial Aid are special loans, grants and work-study programs to help students continue their education in the college level. It allows for comfortable payment methods once the student finishes their post-secondary education.
Financial Aid partially cover the expense of tuition among other things including books and housing.
Anyone can apply for Financial Aid, and since it is measured in a need basis families with lower incomes normally receive more help.
Also the help received is proportional to the cost of the university. Ex. A student who attends a $20,000 tuition university will receive more help than if he attends a $10,000 tuition university.
Prior to applying for Financial Aid, visit the website at www.fafsa.ed.gov to obtain a FAFSA "PIN Number" (Personal Identification Number) for both parents and the student during the month of December. This will enable parents and students to apply on-line for financial aid in January 2007 without any delays due to the high volume of "PIN" requests during that time. This is important because financial aid is distributed on a first come, first serve basis.
Don't get left out of the loop when it comes to your future! Sign Up Now for your FAFSA pin number and begin to plan for your post-secondary future.
