This 40-minute condensed version of John Gay's 18th-Century comedy advanced twice in UIL competition this year and earned "Best Play" at both zone and district UIL competition.
EPHS students are working hard to raise over $45,000 to build a historically complimentary marquee for their campus. EPHS theatre students have offered their talents to the cause.

At UIL Danielle Price was named best actress. Nathan Salom, Natasha Norman, and Blake Lanham were named to the All-star cast, and Angelina Castillo Earned an Honorable Mention. Leads were played by Salom (MacHeath), Price (Polly), Norman (Mrs. Peachum), Lanham (Mr. Peachum), Castillo (Lucy), Jackson Mainwaring (Locket), and Mark Tenorio (Filch).
Actors playing the role of the beggars in the play were Nanar Mowad, Juan Casas, Nicole Slavin, Jesse Marin, Martha Garcia, Rosalinda Sanchez, Elizabeth Loweree, and Chloe Schafer.
The Crew was Kathrine Godinez, Sebastian Guerra, Aurelio Rubalcaba, and Michael Esparza.
