EPISD receives grant to enhance recycling program

EPISD received $26,370 grant from the Rio Grande Council of Governments to expand the District’s current recycling program.

The program will mirror the City of El Paso's recycling initiative. Each campus has a specific dumpster to recycle paper, cardboard, plastics type 1 and 2, tin, aluminum, and metal.

The objective is not only to help the environment, but also to educate students, teachers, and the community on the advantages of recycling. The grant funds will be used to purchase 5,000 recycling bins and supplies and materials to promote the Go Green project.
