9th grade STAAR symposium and STAAR testing

04.22.12 ~  April 23-26 from 8:45-1:00 9th graders will be take part in a STAAR symposium. During that time, Freshman will rotate through 16 stations of interactive, focused review of Biology, World Geography, and math They will be asigned groups and take part in four stations each morning. In addition students will receive a review book. Passing each of these new tests is a requirement for graduation and scoring at the college readiness level is a requirement to ensure students can enter college without taking remedial classes. We want to ensure each student is prepared for success. STAAR testing will occur during the second week of May. TAKS testing week

04.22.12 ~  April 23-27 is TAKS testing week for 10th and 11th graders. . These are important state assessments. A passing score is a high school graduation requirement and college readiness score is a requirement to ensure students can enter college without remedial courses. In order to ensure students do their best on the test, please make sure they have a good night sleep and eat a good breakfast. On testing day we ask that students leave backpacks and electronic devices at home. According to state guidelines any student with a cell phone or electronic device during testing will have their test invalidated. Students may bring a book to read when they complete the test. We wish all our students good luck. FINALS EXEMPTION POLICY

LOCK IN WAS A BIG SUCCESS

04.15.12 ~  The junior class and teacher sponsors Ms. Zumar, Ms. Rincon, and Ms. Cotchery did a great job. The students were awesome and had a great time. We had plenty of teacher and parent volunteers. What a great community. The principal cooked pancakes and the students watched the sunrise.
